Ky Hale- Founder of Rub This Dry Rubs

Born and raised in Southern California, Ky Hale’s passion for flavor started in the outdoors. From a young age, he spent countless days hunting Upland game and fishing alongside his father, grandfather, and uncles. That love for the outdoors carried into his adult years, leading him on bowhunting adventures in Southern Utah and unforgettable fishing trips to Alaska.

Professionally, Ky built a successful career in the dental industry, traveling extensively across North America, Europe, and Latin America. Along the way, he fell in love with the diverse flavors of local cuisines. Inspired, he began recreating those flavors at home- smoking meats, dry curing, and barbecuing over fire. 

More than a decade ago, Ky started blending his own seasonings mixes and crafting unique flavor profiles for family and friends. One evening around a beach fire, while sharing stories and grilled food, the name Rub This was born.

Today, Rub This Dry Rubs brings Ky’s passion for bold and authentic flavors to every kitchen and backyard. Each rub is crafted to elevate grilling, smoking, and everyday cooking- whether you’re a seasoned pit master or just firings up the grill for the first time.
